Burn Notice is a show created by Matt Nix. The show revolves around the burn notices that were issued to discredit any agent dismissals.

Starring Jeffrey Donovan as agent Michael Westen, the show uses the narrative approach based on the point of view of agent Michael. Spies are burned when their connection to the agency is terminated. Thus, Burn Notice is a show that deals with how agents are given burn notices once the agency decides to terminate them or when one is not performing well or when one is unrealiable.

Once a burned spy, the person will no longer have any work history nor money. Basically, a burned spy has no identity and will have to start from scratch. This is what happened to Westen.

After his blown operation in Nigeria, Westen finds himself in Miami, Florida. Cared by his ex –girlfriend Fiona Glenanne, Westen was abandoned by his contacts in the intelligence and is actually under the radar of the agency, just in case he does something stupid. In his search to make contact with his former handler, Westen discovers there is another person involved who wants him iced. The moment Westen decides to leave Miami, then that would be the end for him, thus he has no choice but to work his resources while in Miami.
